Once Upon a Springtime

Hello again :)

This month I plans to apply for Dusty Attic DT but unfortunately life and a new job got in the way of creativity and i only got one of the three requirements completed.  Thats just the way things go sometimes.  So instead I thought I would just enter this layout in the sketch challenge, but it seems to have closed………………………and its still Sept?  Anyway, here it goes!

One of the requirements was to complete a layout using the current sketch.

I loved this range from Graphic 45!!, Once Upon a Springtime, and its still one of my favs - still have wee bit left ;)  I used these photos of me taken at my Christening - for some reason there were doubles taken, so I had lots to play with!

Ive used DA Chicken Wire, the inner part of the middle size clock and Foliage on my layout.  The chicken wire I left naked, the circle has been covered in ink and for the foliage I have covered it with gesso, randomly stamped over it and then inked.

Ive added a combination of Manor House blooms, with Petaloo flowers and Prima toadstools, with a lot of fussy cutting!

Hope you enjoy :)

Wild Card - BoBunny DT

Hi Everyone,

One of the new collections BoBunny has produced this season is Wild Card, and its become one of favourites and I really didn't think it would!  I often find male projects hard to do but these two cards Ive made came together pretty quickly, I think because the range has so much scope to work with.

When I showed Forbes the range I was told there some papers there that I was not allowed to cut up - apparently he thought some of them should be framed as was!

Fathers Day is in September in New Zealand so Wild Card arrived at the right time!  Ive used a mixture of product, clear stamps, wooden cogs, and brads.

To create the base of the card Ive taken one of the cut outs from the Zoom paper and cut the oval out, inked the edge and mounted on foam to give the card more dimension, before adding the rest of the layers.  The arrows have been stamped onto cardstock and mounted onto foam as well.

Forbes's birthday is this weekend and those of you that know him, know that he is mad about FORD cars, particularly classic cars!  This time I used more of the cogs and brads and the Garage sign is from the Noteworthy range.  Theres lots of old car/garage memorabilia in the Noteworthy range perfect for the car mad man in your life :)

Hopefully thats given you some inspiration for male cards as well as using Wild Card :)
Thanks for popping by!

BoBunny DT - Candy Lane Mixed Media Canvas

Hi Everyone :)

Christmas is fast approaching!!  Each year a group of my friends have a tradition that we send each other a gift at Christmas time.  It has to be a Christmas decoration and we have set a money limit of $20.  Over the years I have received some beautiful gifts and its turned into a really fun tradition!

When I saw Candy Lane I knew it was going to be perfect for one of my friends who is mad about the colour pink :)  Some of the papers in the collection are quite bright, but others are more of a muted pastel, so theres huge variety to choose from.  I chose to use the muted pink tones in the collection, with a little fussy cutting and some of the Noteworthy collection.

This season BoBunny also released some new items - stencils, pearlescents, ink pads and glitter paste.  Ive used  two of the stencils to make my background.  From the Brocade set Ive used the dots, and from the Bliss set Ive used the small damask mask.
Theres a couple of things I love about the new stencils.  They are stickable to your chosen surface, so the mask won't move around on you - perfect! - and there are more than one stencil in a kit, so for example the Bliss collection has 20 separate stencils in it that you can use individually!  Great value for money :)

To create my background I have painted my canvas with gesso and used texture paste with my stencils, and randomly stamped my background.  The title I have cut from my silhouette and used the Pink Punch ink pad to give it that subtle pink colour by using my fingers to mush it in - to tone the colour down a bit Ive used my fingers again to blend in some Sugar Pearlescents and finally gone around the edge of my letters with black pen that Ive blended with a baby wipe.

Thanks for popping by today and if you want to see what the BoBunny stencils are like you can see them here.

There are some utterly beautiful examples of interpretations of the sketch today, and you can find those here.  You can also check out the lucky people who won some Heartfelt Creations goodies from the Rafflecopter from the last sketch :)
