Designing Kits

Something I was not going to do.   Kit designing.  But here we are with my second kit for The PaperTeapot, and just like last time this kit has a lot of product in it - yummy Blue Fern Studio Papers and flowers, Nuvo mousse and stencils are just a few.  Theres 3 layouts this time, and a tag with the scraps, and theres still more leftover to make more tags, or a card.

When my first kit came out I was quite nervous.  Despite Joanna's encouragement I wasn't convinced it would sell,  but they all sold.  In an hour!  This kit though is quite different to the last one and there is a reason for that.  One of the comments I received was "don't I do layouts without flowers?"  Well mostly no ;). but I do like a challenge, so this one is completely different!

This is the first layout, pretty plain and simple.  Nuvo mousse and black archival ink has been used with 2 different stencils for my background and the chipboard has been coloured with mousse and embossing powder.

Another simple layout but I had to add some flowers to this one - weddings need flowers right?  And remember, I can't sew to save myself so Ive used a stamp.

The third layout is this cute wee dude :). Nuvo mousse again but using my finger to rub through the stencil to get the effect I wanted.

And lastly the tag.  Lots of layers behind those flowers, can't really see them in the photo though.  Ive used the BFS packaging for the base of my tag - I love how you can do that with their products!

I hope you love this kit as much I loved creating it :)
See you next time!

The PaperTeapot Retreat

I can't believe how fast this year is going!  I also can't believe theres Christmas stuff in the shops already - its only October!  Of course I maybe a bit late to the party, seeing as I only noticed on Saturday, and when I mentioned it to my sister she said they had been out for awhile!

Theres been a lot going on in our wee household, which is why I haven't blogged for awhile, everyone is healthy again, and the dogs are backing running round like the happy things they are, which all means normality has returned ;). Long may it last!

In September I went to The PaperTeapot retreat for some fun and creativity, and I also taught a class.  The class went well!, the mojo not so much!, which is weird because that doesn't usually happen with me.  Retreat went from Thursday, and my mojo finally turned up on Saturday afternoon!  Very annoying!

The class I taught was OTP - no surprises there ;) - but there was also a bonus layout :)   I used Kaisercraft's MDF DreamCatcher, and decorated it with BoBunny Serendipity - I just adored this paper collection :) - 49 & Market flowers, chipboard from Scrapinec and metallic paints from Prima.

A bit of a tricky thing to photograph, as it turned out!
The entire dream catcher was painted in copper metallic paint, and splattered with pale pink and mermaid metallic paints.  Jute twine was wrapped all around the edge - that was the bit the took the longest.

A little fussy cutting provided some of the detail in the floral clusters, and the package of  Noteworthy embellishments provided the rest of the detail to fill out the floral clusters, so that those little birdhouses looked like they were nestled in the flowers.

The birdhouses are Scrapinec chipboard and were decorated with the scraps left over.
When I first saw this paper collection I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, and Im thrilled with how it turned out :). Its going to be winging its way over the ocean shortly to its new owner ;) :)

Such a horrid day down here, which makes it perfect for curling up with a good book or scrapping!  Hope whatever you're doing you're keeping warm!
Til next time :)
