Guest Designing for Berry71Bleu

Hi Everyone :)

Back in February my friend Denise asked me to Guest Design for her on the challenge blog Berry71Bleu.  At the beginning of each month they have a new challenge using a mood board - a bit like Scrap Around the World.  The difference though is that you can create whatever you like with the mood board -  layouts, cards, tags, ATC, or even OTP, whatever you like, as long as you use the mood board.  I can honestly say Ive never used one before but it was great fun!!

For the month of February, this was the mood board:

I decided to go OTP - no surprises there lol ;)   From the mood board I took, the flowers, lace, birds and from the words I focused on Happy Place.

I used a wide range of product and companies this time.  The base of my birdhouse is an old cardboard ribbon spool.  I covered the top with a doily I had cut using my Silhouette and layered my house and garden on top.  The bird house was actually a Christmas decoration I found last year at Kirkcaldie & Stains.  I sure as heck didn't want it on my tree but I knew I was going to use it for something scrappy at some stage!  The lamp is from Kaisercraft.  Ive gessoed it then inked and randomly stamped over it.

Around the base is a chipboard picket fence from 2Crafty that I have altered the same way as the lamp. Prima vines and flowers were draped around the birdhouse to create a shabby cottage garden for my wee house.

Of course a ladder was going to be required to get up there!  So, thats the other half of the fence I didn't use :)  I just cut off the triangular bit to make it look more like a ladder.  Waiting at the top are the eggs, waiting to hatch ;)

Around the middle you can see so BoBunny Kraft Canvas Pleated Lace, with some white lace peeking out from below.  Ive also fussy cut lots of flowers from BoBunny Madeleine collection and layered them amongst the vines.

And of course every house needs a key!

You can see the whole post here.
This month theres a new board and some great prizes up for grabs again.

So, if you're looking for a different challenge this month, why not check it out?!!
See you next time :)
